Grand Cascade

Grand Cascade is a Talus Ribbon Cascade. Its height is 4 metres (13 feet) and its width is 1 metre (3 feet). Located on a tributary of Fifty Creek, it experiences stronger flow during peak storm events and after the winter snow melt.

History

Grand Cascade was on Stephen Head’s list from about 2002 as a possible waterfall site. Joe Hollick also visited it in 2004 and 2005 on Stephen’s recommendation, but he also found it dry. In 2007 David Wootton was the first to photograph it with water flowing.

Joe Hollick also was able to photograph it with water flowing in both 2007 and 2008. Grand Cascade was added to the Hamilton Waterfall list  in 2007.

How to get there

Grand Cascade is located on the south side of the Bruce Trail about a 15 minute walk west of Fifty Road. See attached map.
