Few people visit a waterfall without coming away with a sense of peace tinged with both excitement and exhilaration. Standing in close proximity to the rushing waters makes all the sometimes lengthy trek worth it.

Waterfalling Experience (posted November 27, 2008)
A few months ago my parents joined a Facebook group called Hamilton- Waterfall Capital of the world! Then one weekend I happened to over hear my parents talking about going to a waterfall meeting, and I thought wow my parents can be lame sometimes! Then I noticed that every weekend my parents would tell me they could not drive me anywhere, because they were going “waterfalling” and I thought; oh okay.
Then I noticed after a couple weeks they were going twice a weekend and I just thought they were being complete losers after that. I came home on a Sunday and my dad goes “Hey, come look at the pictures I took today” and I just had another thought of going, “oh great”! After I saw them, I was honestly surprised. They were amazing! They went under waterfalls and they climbed a lot of big hills and I thought it would be a great adventure.
Then my dad asked me if I wanted to go with him this weekend to Devil’s Punch Bowl. I thought about it and I said “ugh I’ll think about it”, about an hour later I came back downstairs and told my dad I would go. Sure, I had to get up early but I was also grounded at that time and I had nothing else to do so I went. When I got there and started adventuring for a bit I thought this was great If I would have known it was so much fun and a beautiful experience, I would have gone with them sooner.
I got to go really close to the water falls, I climbed (and I love climbing). I found ways around things so I wouldn’t slip or anything. But most of all I got to hear good stories from Chris Ecklund that started with “Back in the day”. They were great stories.
I had a lot of fun waterfalling that day. I was actually off the computer and out doing something new, and meeting new people. I would defiantly go again it was so much fun, this was the best grounding I ever had. I never thought waterfalls like that ever existed in the Hamilton area.
