Middle Sydenham Falls

Middle Sydenham Falls is a Washboard Curtain Cascade which has strong flow during seasonal storms and after the snow melt. Its height is 6 metres (20 feet) and its crest width is 3.7 metres (12 feet).

The appearance of this waterfall can vary drastically from a trickle and to a full raging waterfall. When flowing at full width, Middle Sydenham Falls is quite spectacular.

History

Middle Sydenham Falls is featured on the poster “Waterfalls of Hamilton Spring”.

How to get there

Middle Sydenham Falls is located on the Sydenham Creek beside the section of the Bruce Trail where there are a few wooden steps going uphill (about 100 m upstream from Lower Sydenham Falls). It is visible from the Bruce Trail if the leaves are off the trees.

Alternately, you can walk up the Sydenham Creek from Lower Sydenham Falls, climbing over the rocks, to Middle Sydenham Falls, but only at low flows.
