Steven's Falls is a Complex
Classic Cascade. Its total height is 8.5 metres ( 27.75 feet)
and its width is 5 metres (16 feet). It is located on a tributary
of the Spring Creek and normally has water flowing year round.
Although Steven's Falls
is located on Hamilton Conservation Authority lands, access
to it is very difficult as there is no trail.
How to get there
The waterfall is located south of Hwy # 8 on the east side
of Middletown Road between #154 and 144. The HCA has a 20 foot
(6.6 metre) wide right-of-way between 154 and 144 (where the
hydro line is located). Steven's Falls is about 1,700 ft. away
through the bushes and well past the end of the hydro line.
An alternate way to reach Steven's Falls is to follow the creek
up from the railway tracks. It is the second creek west of Weirs
Lane. If you choose this route, it is extremely difficult and
you will be exhausted when you return.
It is easier to go the
other route
even though you think you are trespassing on private property.
